Why Mitzographies

We created Mitzographies because we felt something was getting lost.

Bar and Bat Mitzvahs are meant to mark a sacred passage: a moment of becoming, reflection, and responsibility within the Jewish story. But over time, many celebrations have grown louder, bigger, and busier, leaving less space to pause and truly see the child at the center of it all.

As professional storytellers and parents, we created Mitzographies for both our sons. Our guests are still talking about the meaning, poignancy, and fun they brought to the celebrations. For family and friends who couldn’t attend, we shared the video. And more than a decade later, we still watch and share the videos.

The video creates a moment where generations join together to recognize the journey that led to the bimah and feel the joy of what’s to come.

Who We Are

We are professional storytellers with decades of experience in broadcast TV, including NBC, ABC, HGTV, and Food Network. We founded our production company, Underground Productions, Inc. in 1993, and produce videos for clients ranging from education non-profits to corporations like L’Oreal and Thomson Reuters.

Mitzographies are our passion. We combine our intimate knowledge of the Mitzvah celebration with our editorial skills to produce a unique cinematic experience tailored to your child.
